Laverne Dorsey Baker

Laverne Dorsey Baker age 75 of Walland passed away Saturday, August 30, 2014 at Kindred Healthcare. She was a member of Oak View Baptist Church. Laverne retired from the University of Tennessee Campus with 20 years of service as a Custodial Foreman. She was a wonderful and talented seamstress. She was a loving and devoted wife & mother who will be deeply missed by those who knew her. Survivors include: Husband, Rudy Baker; Son & Daughter-in-law, Charles & Donna Dorsey of Iron City, TN; Brothers, Johnny Dorsey of Lawrenceburg, TN and Gene Johnson of Johnson City; Sister, Mary Renfro of Florida; Special Pets, Grumpy and Tigger; several nieces, nephews, and other family also survive. Celebration of Laverne's Life will be held at 7:00 PM, Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at Smith Trinity Chapel with Rev. Scott Huffstetler and Rev. Glenn Gamble officiating. Interment will be at 10:00 AM, Thursday, September 4, 2014 at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 PM, Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at Smith Trinity Chapel.
