Laura Emma Joines

Laura E. Joines age 91 of Alcoa passed away Sunday, August 30, 2009 at Morningview Transitional Care Center. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Alcoa. She retired from American Airlines at McGhee Tyson Airport. Preceded in death by her father and mother, Lester and Flora Nix; sister, Leona Shuler; brothers, Clarence Nix and Lawrence Nix. Survivors include her husband of 73 years, James L. Joines; daughter and son-in-law, Wilma and Don Mull of Alcoa; grandchildren, Gretchen Burgess and husband, Mark, Jill Hall and husband, Eddie, Terry Mull and wife, Delilah; great grandchildren, Tyler and Jacob Burgess, Caleb Mangum, and Caedon Mull; niece, Jean Johnston and husband, Kenneth. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 2, 2009 in the Smith Trinity Chapel with Rev. Joe Green and Dr. Benic Hampton officiating. Entombment will follow at Grandview Mausoleum. Memorial donations may be made to Alcoa First United Methodist Church Building Fund, 617 Gilbert Street, Alcoa, TN 37701.
