Larry William Ellis, 71, passed into the arms of his Heavenly Father on November 22, 2024, at UT Hospital surrounded by his family. He fought the good fight and is now reaping his eternal heavenly reward. A faithful member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Larry's love for Jesus and his family led him on his daily walk. After over 30 years in the insurance industry, Larry held many different roles in the community, but he loved his time with his pickleball league the most. Larry was preceded in death by his mother and father Lois and Sam Ellis, his mother-in-law Lorene Hubbs, and his most faithful pup Big Bleu Barney Ellis. He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Leigh Anne, son Josh Ellis (Brandy), daughter Annie Large (David), grand children Charlie, Everett, Jane, Bennet and Kinsley, father-in-law Earl Hubbs, sister Patty Kidd, uncle Archie Ellis, several special cousins, niece and nephew and his most beloved pups Molly and Big Kenny. He was the best husband, father, and Grumps anyone could have asked for, and he passed on his love for life and the Kentucky Wildcats to both his kids and his grandbabies. The family would like to thank The Vanderbilt Lung Institute and UT Hospital for taking such good care of him through his battle with pulmonary fibrosis. Family will receive friends from 12 noon to 2pm Saturday, December 7, 2024, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church located at 3736 Tuckaleechee Pike, Maryville. A Celebration of Life will follow at 2pm with Pastors Greg Long and Doug White officiating. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to the Blount County Animal Center, 233 Currie Avenue Maryville, TN 37804. Go Cats!
