Larry Wayne Brewster, age 67, of Maryville, passed away Friday, May 16, 2014 at Blount Memorial. The Vietnam Vet died from a rare cancer caused by toxic chemicals. He was a retired Army Staff Sergeant and also spent 25 years as a helicopter inspector with the Tennessee National Guard. He was preceded in death by his mother and father Herbert and Lucille Brewster and an infant brother Johnny Eugene. He is survived by Karen Brewster, his wife of 48 years; His brother and sister-in-law, Wilbern and Judy Brewster; His sister and brother-in-law, Sue and Johnny Caughran. His sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Judy and Don Watkins, and a brother-in-law, Skipper Kyle; He was a deacon at Hillview Baptist Church and preached a lovely funeral with his life. He is loved and sadly missed by his god-children, many nieces and nephews, friends, and his special pet Chihuahua, J.J. A celebration of Larry's life will be held at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 in the Smith Trinity Chapel with Rev. John Whitehead and Rev. Gerald Jones officiating. Interment will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 in Union Grove Cemetery, Friendsville.
