Lana Compton Hill

Lana Compton Hill, age 57 of Jackson, Mississippi, formerly of Blount County, TN, passed way after a lengthy illness on Friday, December 3, 2010 at Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. She was born June 4, 1953 in Blount County, TN. She graduated from Walland High School in 1971 and then attended Droughon’s Business College. She married Edward Hill on August 10, 1974 and they moved to Tusculoosa, AL. As an Air Force wife for 26 years, she lived in numerous locations across the south and worked part-time for Estee Lauder for many years. Lana loved her family & friends, her pets and always brought joy to those around her. She will be greatly missed by all her knew her. She was preceded in death by her father, Woody Compton and brother, Johnny Compton. She leaves behind her husband, Edward; son & daughter-in-law, Eddie & Elizabeth Hill of Dallas, TX; mother, Betty Compton; brothers, Mike, Dan & Rick Compton; nephews, Andrew & Cody Compton. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2010 at Smith Chapel. The family & friends will assemble at 10:00 am Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery for graveside service & interment with Rev. Greg Long officiating.
