Geneva Kirby Thacker

M. Geneva Thacker expired on October 30th at Fairpark Nursing Home at age 96. She was born May 14, 1915, in Gordon County, Georgia to parents, Deward Kirby and Lula Bell Moss Kirby. She was married to the late Felder Thacker and they moved to the Maryville-Alcoa area in 1937. They had four children, Shirley McCauley of Lebanon, New Jersey, Bobby Thacker of The Village, Florida, Brenda Wilson of Atlanta, GA and the late Tommy Thacker. She leaves 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She resided at 785 Vose Road, Alcoa for over 50 years. She was a member of East Maryville Baptist Church where she was very active in the seniors group. A viewing for the family and friends will be at Smith Mortuary in Maryville on Thursday, November 3, 2011 from 9:30 to 10:30 am.
