Kermit Quinton Fields age 97 of Maryville passed away Wednesday, July 11, 2007 at Maryville Healthcare Center. He was a native of Blount County and a member of Monte Vista Baptist Church, New Providence Masonic Lodge #128 F.&A.M., and Mary Blount Order of Eastern Star. He retired from Alcoa Aluminum Co. Kermits hobbies were surveying, needlework, and golfing. He played golf until age 90. Preceded in death by: Wife of 62 years, Elizabeth Scarbough Fields; Parents, Eli & Lora Fields; Sisters, Sallie, Annis, Ada; Brothers, Luke, Ezra, Wallace, Dawl, Hutton, & J.D. Survivors include: Sister, Mabel Fields; Nieces, Wanda Patton, Glenda Miller, Joyce Johnson, and Carol Bowerman; Nephews, Maynard Crye, Martin, Ronald, Charles, James and Wendell Fields; several great nieces, nephews, and cousins. Masonic service will be at 7:30 PM, Friday, July 13, 2007 in the Trinity Chapel of Smith Funeral & Cremation Service. Family and friends will assemble for graveside service and interment at 10:00 AM, Saturday, July 14, 2007 at Sherwood Memorial Gardens with Rev. Raymond Young officiating. Family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:30 PM, Friday, July 13, 2007, Trinity Chapel, Smith Funeral & Cremation Service, 983-1000.
