Kenny Carey age 66 of Greenback passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at his home in Greenback. He was a member of Niles Ferry Baptist Church and a Veteran of U.S. Marine Corp. Kenny was an avid hunter and fisherman, a member of the N.R.A, and taught archery to many people for numerous years. Survivors include: Wife & Mother of children, Cookie Carey of Maryville; Daughters & Sons-in-law, Corky & Todd Jackson of Greenback, Jodi Carey of Maryville; very special grandson, light of his life and best hunting buddy, Sam Jackson; Mother, Anna Mae Carey of Vonore; Brothers, Bill Carey & wife Betty of Madisonville and David Carey of Knoxville; Sister, Rita (Mimi) Collins & husband and very special brother-in-law, J. Roy Collins of Maryville; Sister-in-law & husband, Judy & Rick Lambert; several nieces and nephews; very special nephews, Tony, Scotty, and Shane Collins; special friends, all the neighbors on Rudd Road, Precision Shooting Equipment, all his good buddies at the Lost River Caf�, and Greenback Fire Department. Funeral service 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 13, 2009, Smith West Chapel with Rev. Casey King officiating. The family & friends will assemble at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 14, 2009 at Oakland United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Kenny Carey Fight the Good Fight Scholarship Fund (to be awarded to a Greenback student) c/o Peoples Bank, P.O. Box 38, Greenback, TN 37742.
