Kenneth “Poncho” Dixon, age 87 of Maryville, went home to be with The Lord on Friday, June 21, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. Poncho was a lifelong member of Piney Level Baptist Church and was a faithful servant of the Lord for over 70 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was retired from Holsomback Body Shop after 60 years. Poncho was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather who will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Preceded in death by his parents, Jake and Iva Dixon; infant daughter, Cynthia Dixon; brothers, Eugene and J.W. Dixon; sisters, Eudora Flynn, Patricia Glenn, Ellen Gardner, and Helen Southerland; sisters-in-law Iva Neeley, Sarah Belle Flynn, Ruth Silcox and Brother-in-law Gene Flynn. Survived by his wife of 66 years Stella Dixon; daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and James Grubb; grandchildren, Matthew (Devin) Wilburn, Zachary Wilburn, and Andrew Wilburn; great-grandson, Easton Wilburn; several nieces and nephews; special nephew, James Dixon. Sister-in-law Shirley Braunm. The family would like to give special thanks to caregivers; Sandy, Susie and Jean also special thanks to Blount Memorial Hospice. Memorial donations may be made to Piney Level Baptist Church. Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, June 24, 2019 in the Smith Trinity Chapel with Rev. George Macht officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Interment will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at West Millers Cove Cemetery.
