Kelsey Lex Nichols

May 24, 1934 — August 31, 2013

Kelsey Lex Nichols age 79 of Maryville passed away Saturday, August 31, 2013 at Renaissance Terrace in Harriman. He was a retired minister from Faith Baptist Church in Lafayette, IN and a Veteran of the United States Navy. Lex coached basketball, baseball, softball, and tennis where he had a huge impact on the youth in each community he lived in. Preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence McKinley Nichols and Bessie Angeline Shook Nichols; wife, Janice Mary Davis Nichols; several brothers and sisters. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Cathy Nichols Garland and Larry Garland; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ralph and Ramona Nichols, and Willard and Toni Nichols; sister and brother-in-law, Mildred and Walter Woody; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday in the Smith Trinity Chapel with Pastor Chester Edwards and Pastor Eric Orta officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery.
