Junior Pearl Hickman “J.P” also known as “JayBird”, age 91 passed away August 6, 2023. He was a faithful member of Full Gospel Christian Fellowship Church. J.P was in the first electrical apprenticeship class of the IBEW 270. He started on January 28, 1952, and just received his 70th year service award and pen. J.P was a mentor to many and a positive influence to all who knew him. He was a good Christian man and showed it daily in his life. He always had a smile and showed love to all he met. When he met someone for the first time, they were family from then on. He would always invite folks to come eat Sunday dinner. He provided in so many ways, both as an encourager to follow Christ and to be the very best they could be. J.P was preceded in death by his Parents, Lucy Thomas Hickman and Elmer Pearl Hickman; His Wife of 57 years, Nellie Lequire Hickman; Son, Richard Thomas Hickman; Brothers, Harrison, Robert, and Wayne Hickman; Sisters, Cleo Harbison and Iva Jackson; Great Granddaughter Sara Grace Burns and 3 angel babies; Nephews, Andy Lequire, Steve Smith; Great Niece, Hannah Smith. He is survived by Daughter, Tina Hickman Burns (Robert); Son, Ronald Hickman (Sharon); Brother, Llyod Hickman (Louise); Grandchildren, John Burns (Stacie), Megan Oneill (Will), Rob Hickman (Melissa), Russell Hickman (Christina), Jessica Hickman Rew (Patrick), Sara Hickman Lilly (Robert), Jennifer Hickman Link, Ryan Hickman (Jennifer), Tom Hickman (Jennifer), Eli Hickman, Drew Lequire, Jacob Lequire, Hugh Randel Smith (Amanda); Nephews, Bill Smith (Norma), Wayne and Mike Smith; Great Nephews, Michael and Ernie Smith; Special Daughters by choice, Teresa Lequire, Linda Brewer, and Debbie Nuchols; Special Granddaughters by choice, Ashlee Alexander and Renee Wilson; Special Friends, Bud and Lou Kanupp; 34 Great-Grandchildren; 1 Great-Great-Grandson. Special thank you to Blount Memorial Hospice and The Department of Labor nurses. Family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 PM Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at Smith Trinity Chapel. Funeral Service will follow at 7:00 PM with Rev. Bill Suttles and Son-in-law, Rev. Robert Burns officiating.
