Josephine Brackins Richardson

Josephine (Josie) Brackins Richardson, age 76, of Maryville departed this life for her heavenly home on Tuesday, March 14, 2017. She was born in Sevier County on December 4, 1940. Josie was blessed with a giving and caring heart and throughout her life devoted herself to serving others. For more than twenty-six years she served as a volunteer with the Blount Memorial Hospital Auxiliary Gift Shop where she contributed in excess of 8,600 volunteer hours. Her servant heart endeared her with people from all walks of life. She was a beloved-devoted mother and her grandchildren were the joy of her life. She was a member of First Baptist Church Maryville where she could always be counted on to serve; she was active in the Family Life and the Welcoming and Visitation ministries. She was preceded in death by: Parents, Charlie and Parlee Wilson Brackins; Brothers, Eugene, Woody, Dee, David and Doyle. She is survived by: Husband, James (Jim) Richardson; Sons, Brent Richardson & wife Tamara of El Paso, TX; Mark Richardson of Johnson City; and Chris Richardson & wife Dawn of Maryville; Granddaughters, Brandi Folkner, Courtney & Brooklin Richardson, and Jolina Richardson; Grandson, Dustin Richardson; Great-Granddaughters, Faith Folkner & Hayden Richardson; Great-Grandson, Zachary Folkner; Sisters, Erma (Hugh) Smelcer and Phyllis Suttles (Bill) Arnold; Brothers, Donald (Leah) Brackins, Luther (Faye) Brackins, Ted (Mary Jane) Brackins; Sisters-in-law, Joyce Brackins and Cheri Brackins all of Sevier County; several nieces and nephews.
