Joseph Herman Nicholson

Joseph Herman Nicholson age 69 of Maryville passed away Thursday, January 26, 2017. Joe graduated from the University of Tennessee with a degree in History in 1970 and JD in 1974. He was an attorney in Blount County for 42 years. He was a longtime member of Fairview United Methodist Church and a 1998 graduate of Leadership Blount. Preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Geraldine Nicholson; wife, Susan Bennington Nicholson. Survivors include his wife, Mollie Nicholson; son, Blaine Nicholson; son and daughter-in-law, Nathan and Helen Nicholson; grandson, Teddy Nicholson; several cousins; special friend, Bill W. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Monday, January 30, 2017 in the Smith Trinity Chapel. A celebration of Joe’s life will be held at 7:00 with Gilbert Harris and Mickey Rainwater officiating. A private service will be held at Grandview Cemetery.
