Joseph Thomas "Joe" Johnson age 88 of Maryville, formerly of Fountain City, passed away Thursday, August 22, 2013 at Asbury Place of Maryville. He retired from the Printing Industry after 50+ years of service. Joe was a member of Monte Vista Baptist Church, a Veteran of United States Navy serving in World War II on board USS Kimberley, 50 year Mason, member of Prudentia Lodge #719, member of Scottish and York Rite Bodies, lifetime member of Kerbela Shriners. Preceded in death by: Sister, Helen Coleman. Survivors include: Wife of 67 years, Doris; Sons & Daughters-in-law, Randy & Kathy Johnson and Dennis & Debbie Johnson; Grandchildren & Spouses, Brian & Pamela Johnson, Scott & Melissa Johnson, Carrie & Brad Everett, Tom & Melinda Johnson, and Mandy & Rich Luzinski; Step Grandchildren, Josh & Ashley Rule & William Cason; 11 Great-Grandchildren; Sister, Polly Eddy; several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the 3rd floor staff of Asbury Place for their excellent care. Family and friends will assemble for graveside service and interment at 9:30 AM, Monday, August 26, 2013 at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery on John Sevier Hwy.
