Joseph A. Cotner

Joseph “Bobby�? Cotner, sunrise was January 17, 1945 and sunset March 9, 2012 at Blount Memorial Hospital, Maryville Tennessee. Bobby as he was affectionately known by all was a very pleasant individual who was educated at the Tennessee School for the blind in Nashville Tennessee. Bobby was a faithful member of the Mt. Pleasant A.M.E. Zion Church where he enjoyed attending Sunday school and singing in the male chorus. Preceded in death by loving grandparents, Rev. and Mrs. W.J. Cotner; uncles, Franklin, William, and George. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving mother, Ms. Elizabeth Cotner; aunts, Mrs. Mary Lane, Mrs. Helen and Carl Locke, Mrs. Laura Manuel; Mrs. Mabel Cotner; uncles, Rev. James and Betty Cotner and Walter and Lucille Cotner; and a host of other relatives and friends to include Mrs. Marie Scudder and the Wilson families. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Mt. Pleasant A.M.E. Zion Church, Rockford with Rev. Dr. Richard M. Gadzekpo officiating. Interment will follow at Sherwood Gardens, Alcoa. The family will receive friends at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
