Joseph Paul Barr

Joseph Paul Barr, age 72, of Maryville, passed away Monday, May 6, 2013 at Shannondale of Maryville. Joe was born in Centrallia, Illinois. He was educated at Kaskaskia Community College and Southern Illinois University. By profession he was an accountant in both the states of Maryland and Virginia. He received the Certified Public Accountant in 1971. He was a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma Business Scholastic Society. He enjoyed woodworking (a hobby passed on by his father), fishing, hunting, gardening, walking, and traveling especially in Ireland. He moved to Tennessee in 2007. Preceded in death by: Parents, Robert & Fern Barr of Illinois; Sister, Jane Russell of Texas; and Brother, Donald Barr of Missouri. Survivors include: Wife, Dolores P. Barr of Maryville; Brother, Frank Barr of Arizona; Sister-in-law, Betsy Barr of Missouri; Brother-in-law, Ron Prince of Louisville; Sister-in-law, Margie Parrott of Knoxville; Uncle, Donald Anderson of Madisonville; Nieces and Nephews in Texas, Illinois, and Tennessee. The family appreciated the kindness of the staff at Shannondale. Funeral service will be at 1:30 PM, Friday, May 10, 2013 at Smith West Chapel with Dr. Jim Millsaps officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 2:30 PM, Friday, May 10, 2013 at Sherwood Memorial Gardens for the interment.
