Johnette Carnes

Johnette Carnes, age 75 of Maryville, TN passed away Friday, April 4, 2025 peacefully at her home with her husband by her side. She was born June 8, 1949 in Ottumwa, IA to John and Margaret Rockett. She married David Nicholson on September 21, 1968. David passed away unexpectedly in June of 1970. She married Ricky Carnes on December 18, 1976. Johnette graduated from Ottumwa High School in 1968. She enjoyed her family and fur babies. She liked working in the yard and watching the birds and squirrels. Johnette enjoyed singing with the choir and doing solos. Preceded in death by: parents; brother, Rickey Rockett; step sisters, Saundra Majors, Patricia, and Jackie Spathe. Survivors include: husband, Ricky; sons, Tony Carnes of Maryville, TN, Keith Carnes of Gilbert, AZ and Michael and Tricia Carnes of St. Charles, MO; 7 grandchildren, Kelsey, Christopher, Tyler, Mackenzie, Joshua, Violet and Alyssa; brother, Rob Rockett of Keokuk, IA; fur babies, Jake and Arizona. Memorial donations may be made to: UT Hospice, 4435 Valley View Dr. NE Suite 104, Knoxville, TN 37917. Family will receive friends from 12:00 until 2:00 PM, Friday, April 11, 2025 at Smith Trinity Chapel. Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM with Rev. Cliff Kosier officiating.
