John M. West, Sr.

John Martin (J.M.) West Sr., age 78 of Maryville passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a veteran of the Korean War. He retired from BBJ Inc. in Atlanta, GA. He graduated from Walland High School & Maryville College. He was a devoted family man and will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Preceded in death by his wife, Alma Ruth West; sisters, Frances Thorton, Carol West, Ruth Seely & Elizabeth Davis; Brother, Madison West. Survivors include his sons & daughters-in-law, John Jr. & Janet West of Maryville, Bill & Lisa West of Indiana; grandchildren, Cassie Mabe, Jed West, Elisabeth & Rebecca West; great-grandchildren, Megan & Lexie Mabe; brother, Henry West of NC; brother & sister-in-law, David & Martha West of Atlanta. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm Saturday, Smith Trinity Chapel. Funeral service 3:00 pm with Rev. Wayne Simmons officiating.
