John Ralph Vernon

John R. Vernon age 76 of Maryville is at peace in Christ after passing away on Thursday, April 6, 2017. He was a tireless volunteer at Blount County Community Food Connection and member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. John retired as an Engineer from the Aerospace Industry. He enjoyed traveling, American history, woodworking and most all being with his family. Preceded in death by: Brother, Thomas Everard Vernon. Survivors include: Wife of 55 years, Julia Vernon; Daughters and Sons-in-law, Judith & Patrick Roberts of Athens, AL and Jennifer & Marty Deschenes of Maryville; Grandchildren, Elise Deschenes, Samuel Deschenes, Matthew Roberts (Caitlyn), Christopher Roberts; many other family and friends also survive. Family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 PM, Sunday, April 9, 2017 at Smith West Chapel. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 AM, Monday, April 10, 2017 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church.
