John Pete Tallent

John Wash "Pete" Tallent, age 70 of Friendsville, passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2009, at home. Pete enjoyed fishing, camping and woodworking. He had a wonderful sense of humor, and was very dependable and honest. He was for many years the owner of P & L Enterprise, and was a member of the Home Builders Association. Pete served in both the Army and Navy. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and a good friend to many people. Pete was preceded in death by his parents, Marcus and Elizabeth Tallent of Monroe County; Brothers, Ronnie & Frank Tallent; Sister-in-law, Geraldine Tallent. He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Lucille "Lucy" Tallent; Sons, Doyle Edward "Sam" Tallent & wife Tammy of Maryville; Rick Lambert & wife Judy of Friendsville; Granddaughters, Amanda Tallent of Missouri, Kady Lambert of Friendsville, and Casey Lambert of Oklahoma; Sisters, Jenette Walker & husband J.B. of South Carolina, Mary Lou Pruitt & husband Curt of South Carolina, Virginia Houser of Greenback; Brothers, Ross Tallent of Lenoir City, Tom Tallent & wife Louise of Georgia; several nieces, nephews, and wonderful friends and neighbors of Michelle Drive, and by Buddy, the family dog. Family will receive friends from 5:30 until 7:30 PM, Thursday, May 28, 2009, at Smith Trinity Chapel. Funeral service will follow at 7:30 PM with Rev. Bob Nuchols officiating.
