John Norman Moore

December 8, 1928 — March 23, 2016

J. Norman Moore age 87 of Chattanooga, and a longtime resident of Walland, passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at Hospice of Chattanooga. He was a member of Walland United Methodist Church and in recent years attended Covenant Presbyterian Church in Chattanooga. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Preceded in death by: Wife, Margaret J. Moore; Parents, J. Farris & Mae Moore. Survivors include: Daughters & Sons-in-law, Ann & Mike Walker of Chattanooga and Laura & Scott Addington of Hendersonville, NC; Granddaughter, Suzanne Collins & husband Josh of Chattanooga and great-grandson Linus Collins; Brother, Rev. Eldon Moore of Maryville, TN. Norman graduated from Tennessee Wesleyan College in 1949 with an Associate's degree. He served during the Korean War in the U.S. Navy aboard the LST 836 Holmes Co as senior radioman. Norman's career as a metallurgist in quality control included employment in Alcoa, TN; New Martinsville, WVA; Decatur, AL and Scottsboro, AL. Norman and Margaret enjoyed many retirement years in Walland TN. In 2012 the couple relocated to Chattanooga TN to Creekside Retirement Community. Norman's varied interests included gardening, woodworking and drawing/painting. The family would like to thank the caregivers at Hospice of Chattanooga and in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Chattanooga 4411 Oakwood Drive, Chattanooga TN 37416. Family and friends will assemble for graveside service and interment at 1:00 PM, Saturday, March 26, 2016 at Grandview Cemetery. Rev.
