John W. Milligan, Jr.

John Wesley Milligan of Maryville passed away peacefully after a long struggle with Parkinson's disease at Asbury Place on May 28, 2015. He was born April 6, 1927 in Vonore. He graduated from Vonore High School. John retired at age 78 as manager of Family Dollar Store and was in retail all his life. John was a fun-loving, hard-working, people person with a love of gardening and interest in physics and many other sciences. Preceded in death by parents John and Ernestine Milligan, and brothers Jim and Howard Milligan. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Perlene Milligan, and daughter Judy Kay Cook; granddaughters Christy Trotter and her husband Tracy of Maryville and Hayley Wilson and husband Braxton of Brentwood and great-grandson Braden Dill of Maryville; son-in-law Lane Cook and his son Jeremy Cook and nephew Jimmy Milligan of Knoxville.
