John L. Knight, Sr.

John Leon Knight Sr., age 69 of Maryville went to be with the Lord Friday, October 25, 2013 at UT Medical Center. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and a man of great faith. John was a member of Heritage Bethesda Church, and the Local 309. He retired from Alcoa after 41 years of service and was a member of the 25 year club and Betrayed Retirees Organization. Preceded in death by: Parents, John and Gladys Knight; Brothers, Ruben James Knight and Joseph Leonard Knight; Sisters, Lucy Caroline Knight and Margaret Lucille Loveday. Survivors include: Wife of 50 years, Thelma Emert Knight; Daughters and Sons-in-law, Lisa and David Courtney, Konni and Greg Snyder; Sons & Daughters-in-law, John L. II and Kim Knight, Jody and Michelle Knight; Grandchildren, Kaitlin and Savanna Snyder, Kassidi, Kalli and Kelsi Knight, Shelby, Andrew and Jacob Knight, Kristin Courtney. Honorary pallbearers; Richard Brown, Ernie Kemper, Bill Starritt, Ron Noe, Joe Sharber, Johnny Blair. Funeral service will be at 7:00 PM, Monday, October 28, 2013 at Smith Trinity Chapel with Bishop Buddy Sweet officiating.
