John Thomas Hurst

John Thomas (J.T.) Hurst age 84 of Maryville passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at Maryville Healthcare. John was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church where he was a Sunday Scholl Teacher. He retired from Alcoa Aluminum Company and was a member of their 25-Year Club. John was a Veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Army. Preceded in death by: Wife, Dorothy Hurst; Parents, John & Verna Hurst; Sister, Rose Ella Hurst; Brother-in-law, Otis Sims. Survivors include: Sisters, Peggy Webb and Charlene Sims both of Knoxville; Special friends, Ruth Campbell and Betty Samples; Nieces, Dawn, Terry, & Melody; Nephews, Mike and Todd. Funeral service will be at 7:00 PM, Thursday, August 30, 2012 at Smith West Chapel with Rev. Harrison Hill officiating. Interment will be at 11:00 AM, Friday, August 31, 2012 at Grandview Cemetery.
