John Harrison Hodge, Jr.

John Harrison Hodge Jr. passed away Sunday, October 27, 2013 at Blount Memorial Hospital. John was born on February 7, 1933. A life journey from Vonore, Tennessee to a rancher in California and back to Tennessee to continue his entrepreneurial spirit. John was proprietary owner of Blount Home Furnishings and John Hodge Used Cars & Parts. Preceded in death by: Parents, John Harrison and Nellie Hodge; Brother, Greenway Hodge; Sister, Birdy Nell Hodge. Prior to failing health, John was active in local horse shows, clubs and parades, as well as active in Glenlock Baptist Church in Vonore, Tennessee. John's life, strength, love and stamina will continue to be celebrated through his Wife of 62 years, Virginia Hodge; Daughters & Sons-in-law, Jonnie & Don Odom, Brenda & Wesley Brewer; Sons & Daughters-in-law, Clifford & Carol Hodge, Jerry & Tammie Hodge. John has six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; Sisters, Blonnie Moser of Madisonville and Nora McCulloch of Vonore; Brother, Reed Hodge of Vonore. A special thank you to Blount Memorial Hospital, Katie Rule and staff. Funeral service will be at 7:30 PM, Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at Smith Trinity Chapel with Rev. Keith Hodge officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at Clark's Grove Cemetery.
