John Wright Dunn

John Wright Dunn age 88, born February 25, 1921 to Pat & Luella Dunn, passed away April 2, 2009 at Blount Memorial Transitional Care Facility. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He graduated from Tennessee Wesleyan College and Tennessee Tech in Accounting. He served as Post Master of Townsend for many years and was an avid "Old Harp" singer. He attended Tuckaleechee United Methodist Church his entire life and served on the cemetery committee for many years as treasurer. He was married to Vida Murriell Moore Dunn who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by: Brothers, Clifton and Calvin; Sisters, Grace and Kathryn. Survivors include: Nephews, Lamar Dunn, Nelson Dunn and Rev. Mike Moore; Niece, Sharon Dunn Davis; Special friends, Johnnie Autrey, Roy & Krista Caughron; Sister-in-law, Azalee Moore. He has numerous grand and great grand nephews and nieces. Family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 PM, Saturday, April 4, 2009 at Smith Trinity Chapel. Funeral service will follow at 7:00 PM with Rev. Ken Abbott officiating. Family and friends will assemble for interment at 2:00 PM, Sunday, April 5, 2009 at Tuckaleechee United Methodist Church Cemetery.
