John E. Cotter

Cotter, John E. age 91, died March 24, 2006, in Atlanta, GA. John was born in Townsend, TN and worked for the Aluminum Co. of America. During World War II he was in the USN, Seabees, and Pacific Theater. He moved his family to Ft. Lauderdale and became an electrician and electrical contractor, a member of the IBEW, and an active member of The First United Methodist Church. John was also a Mason, 32 degree Scottish Rite. Preceded in death by: Wife of 69 years, Mary Katon Wallace Cotter; Parents, Sarah Susan Cotter and Clifford McKinsey Cotter; Sisters, LouElla Ballard, Ruby White all of Maryville; Pearl McCulley of WV; Brother, Carl Cotter of Maryville. Survivors include: Daughter and Son-in-law, Mary Phyllis & Marvin Mitchell; Granddaughter, Phoebe Cotter Mitchell; Great-Granddaughters, Ansley and Katon Vicknair all of Atlanta, GA; Brother and Sister-in-law, Hubert and Mary Cotter of Maryville; numerous beloved nieces and nephews. The memorial service for John will be held at 11:30 AM, Saturday, May 6, 2006 at Smith Mortuary with Rev. Leslee Samuelson of Atlanta, GA officiating. Immediately following the service an inurnment for Mary and John's ashes will be at Grandview Cemetery.
