John H. "Buddy" Settlemire, age 80, of Louisville, passed away Saturday, September 19, 2015 at Ft. Sanders Regional Hospital surrounded by his family. Buddy was a 1953 graduate of Alcoa High and was a retired Railroad Conductor from CSX formerly L & N Railroad. He loved farming, fishing, traveling, and playing Rook. He attended Cornerstone Fellowship Church where he loved to sing in the choir. Buddy was a devoted Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather and friend who will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He was the son of the late Charles and Margaret Settlemire. Preceded also by his wife and love of his life, Myrtle Ann Settlemire; sister, Peggy Crabtree, and brother, Charles David Settlemire. Survivors include his Sons and Daughters-in-law, David and Kay Settlemire, Doug and Becky Settlemire, all of Louisville, and Dwane and Jeannie Settlemire of Spring Hill, TN; Grandchildren and their spouses, Autumn and Nate Suranofsky of Knoxville, Dustyn Settlemire, Megan and Justin Denny, and Jonathan Settlemire, all of Louisville, Dylan Settlemire and Jessica Settlemire of Spring Hill, TN; Great Grandchildren, Weston Denny, and soon to arrive, Baby Suranofsky; Sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Robert Rowland of Louisville; Many special friends, nieces, nephews, and other family also survive. A Celebration of Buddy's Life will be held at 8:00 p.m. on Monday, September 21, 2015 in the Smith Trinity Chapel with Rev. Phillip Marshall and Rev. Gordon Robinson officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service starting at 6:00 p.m. Memorial donations may be made in Buddy's name to the Louisville Town Hall or to Relay For Life.
