John Houston Bible, Sr.

Bible, Sr., John Houston age 92 of Maryville passed away Sunday, October 14, 2007 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He attended Dotson Memorial Baptist Church an was and avid golfer and sportsman. Mr. Bible was to be inducted into the Inaugural Greeneville High School Hall of Fame Class of 1936 this week. He retired from Alcoa in 1976 and was a member of the 25 Year Club. Preceded in death by his wife, Mary Azalee Bible; son, Kenneth Bible; daughter, Vivian Bethel; brother, Lacey Bible; sisters, Velma Seaton and Willie McNese; parents, Elsie Morris and Bert Bible. Survivors include children and spouses, John Houston, Jr. and Barbara Bible of Houston, TX, Tom A. Bible of Louisville, Martha and David Christenberry of Knoxville, Richard and Reba Bible of Maryville; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and their families; special live-in caregivers, Alan and Rita Dotson.
