Joel Bumbalough, 81, the widower of Sallie Mae Hancock Bumbalough, went home to join his beloved wife and be with his Lord and Savior, Saturday evening, December 26, 2009, at Tidelands Community Hospice House. Mr. Bumbalough was born the son of Birch Bumbalough and Velma Cooper Bumbalough, on November 24, 1928 in Cookeville, TN. He was a retired baker with the Kroger Bakery. He was avid outdoorsman of hunting and fishing. Joel and Sallie were married on July 26, 1947, and celebrated 61 years together. From this blessed union survives: four children, Terry Lee (Debbie) Bumbalough, Joetta B. (Danny) Stephens, Deena G. (George) Onufer, Regina B. (Tim) Davidson; and eight grandchildren. Also surviving is one brother, Harold Bumbalough. He was predeceased by his wife, his parents, one brother, James Bumbalough, and two sisters, Birdie Lee Farmer and Anna Ruth Bumbalough. Home-Going Celebration will be 6 PM, Thursday, December 31, 2009 at Smith Trinity Chapel. Committal ceremony will be 1 PM, January 1, 2010, in Logans Chapel Cemetery.
