Joe Everett Delozier

Joe Everett Delozier Jr. passed away peacefully on the morning of March 14, 2016 at Blount Memorial Hospital in Maryville, TN while surrounded by family and friends. He was 71 years old. Joe Everett Delozier Jr. was born in Maryville, TN to Joe Everett DeLozier Sr. and Estelena Rogers DeLozier in 1944. Joe attended Porter school and worked on the family farm as a young man. He later became involved in the logging business and was not afraid of hard work. He was an avid hunter, trapper and fisherman. He was of the Baptist faith and had a strong belief in God. Joe was preceded in death by his parents Joe Everett DeLozier Sr. and Estelena Rogers DeLozier as well as sisters, Peggy Joyce (Patsy) DeLozier Watkins and Mary Evelyn DeLozier Maples. Joe is survived by his wife, Tessa DeLozier, and their son Joshua Jeremiah DeLozier as well as stepchildren, Khol and Katie Orr. He is also survived by his first wife, Pat McDonell DeLozier and their children Joe Everett DeLozier III, Jama DeLozier, Jerry DeLozier and wife Angela as well as grandchildren Taylor Montana Everett, Austin DeLozier and Jenna DeLozier. Additionally, Joe is survived by his brother Benjamin R. (Benny) DeLozier and his wife Brenda. Joe will be missed by other family members and friends including Rick and Barbara Dunn, Austin Hendrick and Michael Stamm. Receiving of friends will be on Thursday, March 17, 2016 from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. in the Smith East Hall. Family and friends will assemble for Graveside services and Interment at 2:30 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery on Tuckaleechee Pike.
