Joe graduated from Friendsville High School then the University of Tennessee and remained a loyal Volunteer fan. He married Evelyn Kaye Blackburn and raised five children. His executive career in the aluminum industry warranted relocation to eight different states with multiple international travels. Retiring in Maryville, Tennessee, Joe and Evelyn made lifelong friends along their journey. Joe was an avid golfer who started the family tradition of the Greater Campbell Open. He was a gifted pianist who always enjoyed singing with friends in the church choir with a highlight performance at Carnegie Hall. In his later years, Joe shared his love of music with friends at Brookdale Assisted Living by playing the piano daily and leading sing-a-longs where he was the life of the party. Joe was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church with a faithful devotion to God. He held numerous volunteer leadership roles in the church, the community at large and multiple civic organizations. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rod and Dana Campbell and his beloved wife Evelyn. Joe is survived by his children Lisa Wilson (Michael), Nancy Renshaw (Gene), Jane Jones (Richard), Karen Holloway (Scott), and Mark Campbell (Robin), thirteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, and his brother William Campbell (Margaret). Joe’s infectious smile, warm hugs, and life-long legendary passion for practical jokes will be sorely missed.  Family will receive friends on Monday, February 6, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. EST in the Smith Trinity Chapel.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, February 7, 2023, at 1:30 p.m. EST at First United Methodist Church in Maryville, Tennessee, with interment following at Grandview Cemetery.
