Jo Roberts

Jo Roberts born May 8, 1929 and passed away May 18, 2008 at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Peck's Memorial United Methodist Church, Mary Blount Order of Eastern Star and one of the original members of the Third Monday Night Rook Club. She was co-owner for many years at Jo & Tilly's Playhouse. Preceded in death by: Son, Mike Roberts; Parents, James C. & Jenny Davis; Brother, Jim Davis; Sisters, Alma Nichols and Ruth Valentine; Special friend, Myrtle Tilly. Survivors include: Husband of 59 years, James F. Roberts; Daughter and Son-in-law, Ann & Larry Melton; Daughter-in-law, Pat Roberts; Grandson, Dek Melton; Granddaughters, Beth Latham, Nikki Roberts and Emily Roberts; Great-Grandsons, Landan Melton, Riley Melton, Zander Melton; Great-Granddaughters, Haley Melton and Alayni Latham; Sisters-in-law, Joann Davis and Clara Bell; Brother-in-law and Sister-in-law, Minnis and Ruth Roberts; Special friend, Rebecca Rose and pet cat Gracie. Funeral service will be at 7:00 PM, Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at Smith West Chapel with Rev. Larry Best and Dr. Mack Turner officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, May 21, 2008 at Grandview Cemetery for the interment.
