Jim L. Shuler age 76 of Alcoa passed away Sunday, April 5, 2009 at his home. He was an Elder and member of Trinity Presbyterian Church where he served faithfully for many years. He truly loved his church family and friends. Jim was a member of the United States Navy and afterwards worked for the Naval Ship Research and Development Center. He had a special passion for Little League Baseball where he coached and managed several teams throughout the years. He will be deeply loved and missed by all who knew him. Preceded in death by: Parents, Henry & Ella Shuler; Brothers, J.R. & Harold Shuler; Sister, Mildred Beeler; His cousin that was as close as a brother, Robert Wilson. Survivors include: Wife, Sherley Shuler; Son, David Shuler of Alcoa; Daughters, Angela Ferrante of Alpharetta, GA and Brenda Hamilton of Maryville; Grandchildren, Amanda Johnson of Duluth, GA, Eddie Hamilton of Maryville, Alex Johnson of Cumming, GA; many nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be at 7:00 PM, Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at Smith Trinity Chapel with Rev. David H. Anderson and Bro. Leonard Heatherly officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 12:00 PM, Thursday, April 9, 2009 at Grandview Cemetery for the interment.
