Jimmie Slawson Lewis

Jimmie Etoile Slawson Lewis, 88, of Maryville, TN passed away on April 5, 2014 at Shannondale Retirement Community. Married to the late Floyd W. Lewis, Sr. for almost 64 years, they lived the majority of their lives in New Orleans, LA. Jimmie was joyously welcomed to Heaven by her Lord, her loving husband, and her oldest son Floyd Jr. She was such a great example of a devoted wife, a patient mother to her 6 children-Floyd, Gail, Julie, Ann, Carol, Mike-and a loving Nana to her 15 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren whom have all aspired to be like her because she reflected Jesus so well. Jimmie created such a welcoming home that her grandchildren often commented it was their favorite place to be, particularly at Christmas. She will be remembered for her selfless love for her family, the beautiful flowers she grew, her love of creation and simple pleasures, and her butter/sugar sandwiches! She laughed easily and fully enjoyed life. Our lives are forever changed because of the incredible legacy she left. A family graveside ceremony will take place in Kentwood, LA on April 19, 2014 at 11 am.
