Jewel Patience Lyon

November 28, 1916 — October 1, 2016

Jewel Patience Swanson Lyon passed to her heavenly home on October 1, 2016. She will celebrate her 100th birthday on November 28th with Jesus, the angels, and her husband, Stuart. Jewel was born and raised in St. Louis MO, met and married Stuart in Buffalo, moved to Connecticut in 1940, and retired to Bradenton Florida and later to Seminole. In 2008 she moved to Asbury Place to be close to family. Homemaker, volunteer, copy writer, and artist, Jewel lovingly and generously opened her home to friends regularly. She is deeply loved and will be greatly missed by her family. Memories of the many times we experienced together will always be treasured. Even in the nursing home, she liked planning a dinner party, wanted to give gifts to everyone, and kept her sense of humor. Jewel was baptized at Pathways Community Church in Florida when she was 90; an unforgettable event. Jewel was preceded in death by: Brothers, Harvey & Bill Swanson; Sister, Dorothy Sugg. She is survived by: Son & Daughter-in-law, Richard & Suzanne Lyon; Daughter & Son-in-law, Jan & Ron Kitelynn; Grandchildren, Lindsey Shreve and Bill Kitelynn; Great-Grandchildren, Grace, Noah, Ayla, Abby, and Coda. In lieu of flowers, donations to Thrive Rescue Home may be made through East Maryville Baptist Church, Maryville TN. Family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:00 PM, Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at Smith Trinity Chapel. Memorial service will be at 7:00 PM with Rev. David Frahme officiating.
