Jesse Douglas "J.D." Anthony

Jesse D. “J.D.” Anthony, age 84 of Rockford, passed away on January 8, 2022 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a long-time employee of Kroger and an avid ginseng hunter. He was a 60-year member the Vonore Masonic lodge #658. Preceded in death by parents, Harley and Nora Anthony of Vonore; brother, Oneil Anthony; sisters, Gaynell Moody, Clara Belle Maynard, Leila Bell, Sue Millsaps and Joanne Murr. Survived by his loving wife of 60 years Corrine Anthony; daughters, Kim and Jim Mathis of Sevierville, Robin and Scott Norman of Seymour; son, Mark Anthony of Knoxville; grandchildren, Shay and Jen Widner, Lance Anthony, Wendy and Drew Kyker, Lilly and Jordan Carter; great-grandchildren, Bentlee Widner, Harleigh Widner, Addilyn Kyker, Emerie Kate Kyker, baby Kyker due in August, Lilliana Widner, Lucius Yearwood, and Aiden Newsome; brothers, Jimmy Anthony of Vonore and Charles and Frieda Anthony of Madisonville; sister, Otella and Ronnie Watson of Madisonville. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 from 4:00 until 6:00pm in the Smith Chapel. A Celebration of Jesse’s life will follow at 6:00pm with Rev. Tom Hatley officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at Grandview Cemetery for the interment service.
