Swaney, Jerry Dee age 68, passed away peacefully at home on April 21, 2007, surrounded by family and friends after a sudden illness. Jerry was born on December 29, 1938, and lived in both Loudon County and Blount County for many years and was retired with over 30 years' service from ALCOA Aluminum Company and a member of the United Steelworker's Local 309. Jerry faithfully served our country as a member of the United States Air Force and achieved a distinguished level of 32 Degree Mason in the Masonic Lodge. After retirement Jerry and June spent much of their time traveling the USA and Canada in their motor-coach along with their loving companion Trixi. He was a lifetime NASCAR fan and loved spending time outdoors. Jerry will be missed, but never forgotten, as a loving man with a unique since of humor willing to help anyone in their time of need. Jerry loved the Lord and deeply cared for his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, June D. Swaney; sister and husband, Betty and James Waller; son, John Christopher Swaney; daughter, Stacy Ramsey; step-son and wife, Ken and Margaret Cassell; and Daughter in Law, Dede Cassell. Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday, April 23, 2007 in the West Chapel of Smith Mortuary. Family and friends will assemble at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 24, 2007 at Four Mile Cemetery for Graveside Service and interment. Smith Mortuary, Maryville, 865-983-1000.
