Jerry E. Roberts

Jerry E. Roberts, age 79, passed away at the family home on August 22, 2016. He was a Central High graduate, avid golfer and outdoorsman. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and completed a distinguished career after 34 years; most of the service with the 134 Air Refueling Wing, retiring at the rank of SMSgt as the Standardization/Evaluation Boom Operator. He was a member of Middlesettlements United Methodist Church. He is preceded in death by parents, Sidel (Cy) and Ruth Roberts, brother Jack Roberts and sister Sue Ann Roberts. He is survived by his devoted wife of 28 years, Susan Roberts, sons Mike Roberts (Kim), Dean Roberts (Kelly) both of Knoxville. Daughters Vanessa Odom (Robbie) and Beth Dirmeyer (Lee) both of Maryville, sister Jane Phillips (Denny) of Livingston, TN and Merna Roberts (mother of his sons) of Knoxville and best friend Roger Owyang of Friendsville.
