Jerry David Melton Jr.

Jerry D. Melton, Jr. went to be with the Lord, Tuesday night, November 22, 2016. Nothing was more important to him in this life than his faith, his family and his friends and he never failed to share his faith, love and kindness with everyone he encountered. He never met a stranger and spent some of his favorite times on the golf course with his buddies. He was a member of Dotson Memorial Baptist Church and Mtn. View Lodge 519 F&AM. Preceded in death by: infant son, Kenneth; parents, Jerry & Juanita Melton; brothers, Larry & Teddy Melton. He is survived by: wife of 49 years, Anne; children, John Melton (Olivia Trenda), Jimmy Melton, Brooke Garner (Gabe); light of his life granddaughter, Grayson Caroline Garner; honorary grandson, Alex Boyd; sisters, Sharon Davis and Linda Davis (Billy) of Georgia; sister-in-law, Ann Melton; brother-in-law, Terry Hammontree (Kathleen) and numerous nieces and nephews and special friend Curtis Wade. Family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until 12:30 PM, Saturday, November 26, 2016 at Smith Trinity Chapel. Funeral service will follow at 12:30 PM with Rev. Jim Cummings officiating.
