Jean Burchfield age 62 of Alcoa went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 3, 2010. She was a member of Anchor of Hope Church. Jean retired from John Sevier Elementary School after 23 years of service. Preceded in death by her parents, John and Lula Monday; sister, Louise Franklin; brother, Wade Frye. Survivors include her husband, Buford Hackler; son, John Wilburn; son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Tonya Wilburn; daughter, Tessa Wilburn; daughter and son-in-law, Marcel and Randy Pilkey; 12 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; brother, Sam Monday; sisters, Shirley King, Faye Reagan, Marie Martin, and Ruby Welch; several nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Tonya Wilburn, Shannon Conner, James Coffey, and Carl and Judy Crowe. Funeral service will be at 8:00 p.m. Monday, April 5, 2010 in the Smith Trinity Chapel with Rev. Carl Crowe and Donnie Amburn officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at Grandview Cemetery for the interment. Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday at Smith Funeral & Cremation Service, Maryville, 983-1000.
