J.D. Ownsby

J.D. Marshall Ownsby age 82, passed away September 16, 2012 at 6:00 PM at Blount Memorial Hospital after chronic poor health. He was honorably discharged from the Army after the Korean Conflict in May 1953. He, three brothers and their father joined the Masonic Lodge in March 1963. J.D. was currently a member of Fellowship Baptist Church and enjoyed spending time fishing and attending the church activities as health would permit. The family would like to thank all the nurses at Blount Memorial Hospital and The Dialysis Clinic for all their kindness and support. Preceded in death by: Parents, Marshall Ownsby & Virgie Ownsby Bostic; Brother, Fred Ownsby; Sister, Imogene Anderson. Survivors include: Wife, Wynona Ownsby; Brother & Sister-in-law, Ronald Ownsby (Diane); Son & Daughter-in-law, Doug & Gigi Ownsby; Stepsons & Daughters-in-law, Terry & Cynthia Goodman and Marty & Pam Goodman; Half Brother, Willard; Half Sister, Marie Ogle of Michigan; Grandchildren, Jayson Ownsby (Jessica) and Jessica D. Ownsby, and Becky Kerr (Josh) & Brandon Goodman (Nicole). Funeral service will be at 7:00 PM, Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at Smith Trinity Chapel with Rev. Tom Hatley officiating. Family and friends will assemble for interment at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at Pine Grove Cemetery.
