Dr. Jay T. Knippen

Dr. Jay T. Knippen passed away May 11, 2013 at his home in Tampa, FL. Born in 1936 in Elmhurst, IL to parents Julian and Regina Knippen. He is survived by his wife Sandy; daughter, Brenda and husband Mark; son, Jeff and wife Daisy and their children Soren and Ilan; sister, Gerilynne Knippen, and a Ford 8N tractor. After growing up on a farm in Lombard, IL, he went to Iowa State University where he met Sandy. He earned his M.S. from the University of Hawaii, his Masters and D.B.A. from Florida State University. He was a professor at the University of South Florida in Business Management for 30 years. He also had a school where he taught people how to build their own home. His talents and friends were many. He was the father all children deserve, giving unconditional love and unfailing support. He will be buried in Maryville, TN. where they had their farm and an old cabin he restored. We will miss this Christian man every day. God Bless you Jay and thank you for sharing your life with us. The family & friends will assemble at 4:00pm Saturday, May 25, 2013 at Grandview Cemetery for graveside service & interment. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice.
