Garner, Jay A. age 84 of Maryville passed away Tuesday, May 30, 2006 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a member of Grandview Baptist church and former member of Old Chilhowee Baptist Church. He was a United States Navy Veteran of World War II and a member of ALCOA's 25-Year Club. Preceded in death by: Parents, Will & Cora Garner; Sisters, Geneva Headrick and Nellie Quirk; Brother, Lee Garner. Survivors include: Wife of 55 years, Almeda Garner; Daughters, Shirley Rupert of Walland and Nina Morgan of Greensboro, KY; Four Grandchildren, Matt Rupert, Megan Rupert, David Morgan, and Michael Morgan; Three Great-Grandchildren, Meah Rupert, Chayce Rupert, and Skyler Morgan; Sisters, Blanche Everett and Juanita Brown; Brother & Sister-in-law, Dewey & Helen Garner; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 8:00 PM, Friday, June 2, 2006 in the Trinity Chapel of Smith Mortuary with Rev. Terry Russell officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 3, 2006 at Grandview Cemetery with military honors. Memorial donations may be made to: Blount Memorial Hospice, 1095 E.
