Janie Mae Henry, age 61, of Maryville went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 05, 2013 at her home. Janie was formerly employed as Head Waitress at Morrison's and Piccadilly Cafeterias at Foothills Mall and Alterra Sterling House Assisted Living, where she loved helping senior citizens. Janie received numerous awards at her place of employment. Janie was a special wife, mother, sister, companion, and friend. She was a member of Power and Praise Tabernacle in Maryville. Preceded in death by her father, Luther Leo Everett; mother, Betty Joe (Sands) Everett; sister, Betty June Everett; brothers, James Luther (JL) Everett and Gregory Steven (Greg) Everett. Survivors include her husband, Gerald Henry; daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Paul Stiverson; grandchildren, Brian and Kiera Stiverson; six step-children; one step daughter-in-law; two step sons-in-law; nine step grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Jean and Bud Jones, Doris and Tim Haiden, Mamie and Ruben Boling; uncles, William Sands and James Sands; favorite uncle, Leo Sands; numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Pallbearers will be Paul and Brian Stiverson, David Compton, JJ Click, Aaron Henry, and Allen Denton. Do not stand at my grave and weep, I am not there, I do not sleep. Do not stand at my grave and cry, I am not there, I did not die. We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. 2 Corinthians 5:8 KJV. Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00p.m. Monday, January 7, 2013 in the Smith Trinity Chapel with funeral service to follow at 8:00 p.m. with Rev. Danny Buchanan officiating. Interment will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at Chilhowee View Cemetery with Rev. Grover Bolden officiating. Smith Funeral & Cremation Service, Maryville, 983-1000.
