Jane Gates Jones

Jane E. Jones age 95 went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at NHC Health Care Oak Ridge. She was born in Staten Island, NY, and formerly resided in Greenwich, CT and Scarsdale, NY before moving to Maryville. She was a graduate of Columbia University and will always be remembered for being a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Jane was the widow of John P. Jones Jr. and Major G. Carlton Thomas of Brooklyn, NY. Survivors include: Children & their Spouses, Jim & Ginger Jones of Milford, PA, Jane & Zac Charon of Myrtle Beach, SC, Drs. Donald & Susan Jones of Maryville, TN, and Lorie McDonnell of Charlotte, NC; Grandchildren, Dr. Paul Daniel Jones, Greg Jones, Catie Jones, Stacey McCormack, Amy Mabry, David Charon, Sarah Charon, Michael Charon, Philip Jones, Mark Jones, Charles Jones, John McDonnell, James McDonnell, Julia McDonnell; Great-Grandchildren, Kathrine McCormack, Brent Mabry and Reece Mabry; Special Nephews, Gordon Jones of Chapel Hill, NC, Rob Jones of Dallas, TX, and Scott Sheehan of Houston, TX. Funeral service will be at 3:00 PM, Saturday, November 7, 2015 at Smith Trinity Chapel with Rev. Steve Musick officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery.
