James E. Wilburn

James E. Wilburn, age 87 of Maryville, TN passed peacefully into the arms of his Savior while surrounded by family on Thursday, December 21, 2023 at his home. He was born and raised in Maryville, TN and relocated to Illinois to work for Caterpillar Tractor Company. After retirement, he returned to Maryville. James had a passion for and knowledge of any and all types of cars. He loved spending time watching U.T. games on the television. He enjoyed spending time with his wife and his family. James was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Hester Wilburn; daughter, Cynthia Tanner. Survivors include his wife, the love of his life for 68 years, Shirley LaVerne Wilburn; a son, James Alan Wilburn (Kay); daughter, Kim Enlow (Rick). James was blessed with 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them all. He has numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and very special, loving friends. A private family viewing was held on Friday, December 29, 2023 with a family graveside service officiated by Pastor Chris Pass of Grandview Baptist Church.
