James Raymond Walker, age 64, of Maryville, died Sunday, August 31, 2008 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a Locomotive Engineer for CSX for the last 30 years and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the U.S. Army. He was a former Alcoa Police officer. He was preceded in death by his father, William A. Walker Jr. and father-in-law, Fred Ray Hughes. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Donna Beth Walker; son, PFC Jody Andrew Walker U.S. Army serving in Iraq; daughter, Jaime Leeann Walker of Maryville; mother, Anna Mae Walker of Maryville; brothers and sisters-in-law, Billy and Terry Walker of Sweetwater, Gary and Ruth Walker, and Paul and Wanda Walker; sisters and brother-in-law, Pat and Bill Eggers, and Janie Norfleet all of Maryville; several nieces and nephews; mother-in-law, Melba Christine Hughes; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Melvin and Linda Hughes. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 2, 2008 in the Smith Trinity Chapel with Rev. Carl White, Rev. Rex Everett, and Rev. Greg Kelly officiating. The family and friends will assemble at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 3, 2008 at Sherwood Memorial Gardens for the Interment.
