James E. “Eddie” Thompson Sr., age 73, of Louisville, passed away Thursday, October 1, 2015 at the family home. Eddie was of the Baptist faith and was retired from Classic Properties after many years of service. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and the U.S. Army. Eddie was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He was the son of the late James and Bonnie Thompson and preceded by his sisters, Evelyn and Hazel, and brothers, Mike and Emory. Survivors include his spouse of 47 years and love of his life, Shirley Jean Thompson of Louisville; Children and their spouses, James and Kim Thompson Jr. of Madisonville, Teresa Cissell and fiancé, Randall Koenig, Jerry and Amy Thompson, Ronnie Thompson and girlfriend, Gina Baker, all of Maryville; Grandchildren, Ashley Cissell, Austin Lumpkin, Kali Thompson, Courtney Thompson, Ronnie Thompson II, Charlee Thompson, Jeremy Thompson, Alisha Thompson, and Scott Thompson; Great Grandchildren, Carter, Emma, Landon, Gavin, and Brayden; Brothers and sister-in-law, Mark and Pam Thompson, Donnie Thompson, and Stevie Thompson; Many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family also survive.
