James Ralph Stewart

Stewart, James Ralph age 89 of Maryville died Friday, June 6, 2008 at Colonial Hills Nursing Center. He was a lifelong Baptist Minister and a deeply devoted man of God, He was currently a member of Bible Baptist Church in Alcoa. He pastored Calvary Baptist Church, Chicago, Ill; Trinity Baptist Church Hammond, IN; 10th Street Baptist, Jacksonville, Fl; Piney Level Baptist, Maryville; and Turner St. Baptist, Alcoa. He was also a lifelong and greatly gifted carpenter and a WWII veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the South Pacific. He was always a servant to his fellow mankind and imparted these qualities to his family. He was preceded in death by: parents, Harley and Zenie Stewart and Brother Arvil Stewart. Survivors include: Wife of 68 years, Gladys Marie Stewart, Sons and daughters-in-law John and Ann Stewart of Lexington, KY and Richard and June Stewart of Robbinsville, NC; Daughters and sons-in-law, Jean and Ted Ross of Columbia, S.C.. Brenda and Steve Stinnett of Knoxville, TN. 5 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren, .Sister , Blanche Dockery of Lowell N.C. and Cloe Shoppe of North Carolina.
